St Louis

This weekend we decided to drive up to St. Louis to see my grandparents and their "tree house" as we have grown to call it.

We had a really good time visiting. We got to go to the arch and Gram watched Evan as we went up in the Arch. We had no idea one of the pods would break while we were up there and it was going to take a hour and a half to get back down!

She said Evan did Ok. He only screamed for like 30 mins! Ha. She said she got alot of sympathy looks from fellow grandparents and mommies.

Oh well we did have a good time though.

Lombardi Trophy

So this particular day Ron calls me up and says "Hey since your sis is living with us now, we should totally take advantage of her being there and go to a movie tonight, You wanna go see Inception tonight and let her watch Evan?" To which I replied "Uh, Yes! Duh"

So I am all excited to go see the movie and Ron calls back a few hours later, and in his most excited voice ever says "You wanna know what's better than going to see a dumb ole Leo D' CRAPio movie? (that's what he calls him not I)
And I'm like "What" And I must admit his excitement had me a little jazzed up, I thought maybe they were giving away Ipads at the Apple store or something.

"Going to see the Vince Lombardi trophy at the Jackson visitors complex"

Crickets Chirping
"???"
"The Super Bowl Trophy Jen, The Saints are taking the trophy on tour so their fans can see it"

So we went and took Evan for the once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Saints Super bowl trophy. Besides we can see Inception any time. Who would want to see a Blockbuster hit as compared with standing in a long line to see a shiny silver football, that has more security around it than the president? We would thats who. And we created beautiful memories. SEE:

See how cute Ron's face is? How could I say no to that face?

BTW everyone was in love with the baby legs. And why is Ron holding him like that?

Daddy and Me photo shoot

When I was at work the other day, Ron and Camille went out with Evan to do a photo shoot of them together. I had been wanting a good photo of the two together, now I have tons! I can not pick a favorite!

Picha Me Rollin

Here is a hand me down from my niece and nephew, but looks brand new and Evan loves it. Just wanted to post some cute pics of  my boo.

7 months old

I haven't really had a chance to update my blog lately bc I started back full time to work. And this whole working mom thing is hard. So the blog fell to the back of my priority list. But I do want to update it regularly bc I don't really have a paper journal of what all Evan is learning/doing now and how he is hitting all of his developmental milestones. So thats what the blog helps me do.

So back to it. Seven months old. Evan can sit up without assistance. He is figuring out how to crawl, but he hasn't taken off yet (thank goodness). He can pull to a stand. Stands by himself while holding on to objects with out falling.

He is eating so good now-a-days. For breakfast he eats oatmeal and a level 2 fruit. Lunch is level 2 veggie and a fruit. And for dinner it's usually a mixed veggie and protein and a fruit. His Favorite food by far is the Gerber banana and mixed berries. What can I say? The boo-man loves his berries.

Most days he naps pretty good. He has set his own schedule and he likes to stick to his routine. He wakes up with us around 5:30ish or so. Naps around 7:30 or 8ish for about 30 min - hr. Naps again around 12:30 or 1ish for an hour or hour and 1/2. Maybe a nap around 3ish before Daddy comes home. And promptly puts himself to bed around 7:30ish.

Now night times are ify. He may sleep from 7:30 til about 1 am and nurse and wakes again around 4ish to eat. But recently, I don't know if he is teething or me being back at work but he has really been fighting going to sleep. He screams and cries and throws the most awful tantrums. No matter how you try to hold him, rock him, or carry him he screams. I think he is very easily over stimulated with noise and he likes his quietness. He is the lightest sleeper ever! (unlike his auntie and her kids, I think you could throw a brick at them while they sleep, and they wouldn't budge!)

Another thing thats new; We have nicknamed Evan "Sir Poops-a-lot" bc the boy POOPs ALL THE TIME!
This is definitely a fun age. It seems every day he is doing something new. Oh yeah hes been babbling saying "Ma ma ma" and "Da da da"

Love me some baby hiney!

Good-bye bucket, Hello Ducky!

Since Evan has decided to only stand in his bucket, it was time for us to move on to a bath ducky.
He is so much fun! When you squeeze his little beak, he quacks! And it has just the right amount of water so he can sit up and play with the devil duck toys.

Bath time is so much fun!

Evan's first attempt at crawling

I know it's sideways but Ron took it with his cellphone. But he captured the first attempt at crawling on the floor. We have been noticing that he crawls around in his bed but not so much on the carpet, til now.

Twenty-eight Week Photo

Ok so I have to wake up @ 5 to go to work, and usually I can remember to do all that I need to do to get ready and remember to take Evans weekly picture every Mon. This day I must have overslept or something. I realized as soon as I got to work that I didn't take the photo and texted Ron. Well this photo is what he and my sister the photographer produced. They couldn't figure out how to get him from reaching for the paper. See mom knows how to distract him and slide the paper in just in time to get the shot before he starts destroying the paper. I guess no one does it quite like Mom. I still love this pic because he seems so laid back in this picture. What's really fun are the pics they took trying to get this pic. If I'm feeling spicy maybe I will post those as well.
