3 Year Anniversary

This is what I had waiting for me when I woke up this morning.

Along with this:

This is our "Leather Year." So Ron got me the cow because that is where leather comes from. Clever Hu?
And the little married couple cake topper? He's just weird I think he found it in a clearance section of one of the stores he works. Then next to this he had a card. After I read the card it had an arrow pointing into the kitchen and said look out the window. So I look and see this:

Wind chimes. I Love Wind chimes. They sound so relaxing and peaceful. In fact I have a noise maker in our bedroom and it stays on 24/7 playing wind chimes sounds. We can't sleep in our house without that sound.

Evan's Nanny, who is a marvelous cook made us shrimp n' grits and brought them to the house along with a chocolate chess pie (mmmmm!). And we just chilled at the house and had a family dinner. It was perfect really.

I got Ron a brown and black leather belt and a cool flask with leather around it. And in Ron's usual fashion, he returned everything but the brown belt. Just like last year for our "Cotton Year", he returned all the undershirts, underwear and socks.

We wrote in our journal that Ron got us for our first anniversary (our "Paper Year") We always write what we did on our anniversaries, what we got each other, then we list out stuff like how much milk costs, movie tickets, stamps, who the president was, big news events, what cars we are driving, stuff like that.
On the front inside cover I wrote down our vows that we said to each other on our wedding day bc they weren't the usual "honor and obey" ones. They were more contemporary and more "us". Anyway, every year we get the book out and read our vows and remember our special day.

I am still working on a coffee table book of our wedding so we can look at that on our anniversary. And I have made and edited a video of all the parts of our wedding, I just need to burn it to a disc. So that way we can watch it every year as well.

Ron's First Father's Day

This is what mornings in the Landreth home look like.

Evan helping Diddy open his Father's Day card.

Evan and Diddy playing.

I'm so stinkin cute!

Evan showcasing Diddy's Father's Day gift.

Ron also got a framed picture of himself and Evan, and 2 travel coffee mugs. I thought he looked a little silly driving to work every morning sipping on my pink "J" mug. Now he has top of the line manly looking coffee mugs to use during his morning commute.

This boy loves to.......

Walk!!

I swear he would pass up crawling if given the choice. He would stand all day if you'd let him. But his new favorite toy in the house is his walker. Ron's mom borrowed it from a friend. I love it too. He just runs around and entertains himself. It is so stinkin cute to see him just wondering around in the hallways like he owns the place. The walker has all kinds of toys attached so he can entertain himself and it plays music. Ron is already sick of the songs it plays. There is a newer version of this walker at Walmart that I want desperately that is way cuter. It has Winnie the Pooh on it and it's color scheme suites Evan better. Plus we have to return this one. And what about our next kid? Well needless to say Ron won't let me buy it cause he thinks its dumb to buy it when we can just borrow this one. Oh well. But I'm definitely getting it for the next time around!

Another Photo Shoot

Sometimes when you get cought up in the moment of baby shopping, you find an outfit that is cute, and totally forget to do the math to see if it will be winter or summer when the baby will be able to wear it. Well I still have a lot of great outfits that Evan hasn't ever worn because they were too small when he was first born, and now its summer and they finally fit, even though it's a winter outfit. Well that is the case of the bear costume I had posted earlier in this blog that my mother in law bought me, and also for this outfit a good friend got me while I was pregnant. It is so cute and I don't want him to get too big and have never worn it. So I do photo shoots. Here is the one from today.

This is Evan hanging with his cousin for the first time. He loved meeting his aunt Jannah. cousin Jannessa, and uncle Glen. This video is so cute of them playing, I am sure my friend Carley will get a kick out of this video!

Baby Bro

My sister totally Jedi mind tricked me and stole my idea about blogging about my bro. So I will write my own post and now it looks like I copied her but oh well.

My baby bro (pictured above) is the coolest person I know. He is one of those people whom you just naturally want to be around. He has the best personality and is super fun. When you get me and my brother and sister together we never stop laughing. In fact, he is so cool that I frequently have people who want to be my friend so that they can get closer to him. Now thats cool. No one ever has befriended someone to get close to me.

What kinda pisses me off though, is if you are my friend first, then you wiggle your way into being my brother's friend, then act like you don't know me. That is unfortunately the case with a certain person and Jake just doesn't see it. He thinks it's all innocent enough. He's like that. He has no idea what the real world is like. See he is so beautiful, that things just sorta always work out for him. He always has the best experiences and opportunities ALWAYS just fall into his lap.

For example, I remember this one time we went shopping at the mall. And EVERY store we went into the sales people were falling all over themselves to dress him and help him. They never asked me once if I needed anything. They were running all over the store grabbing stuff and complimenting him.

In 2 separate stores on the same day, the salesperson even ran in the back to grab the newest jeans that had just arrived for him to try on. They weren't even supposed to be selling them yet, they hadn't priced them yet. But he just really wanted Jake to try them on. And maybe I am wrong but I totally got the straight vibe from this guy.

When I talked to Jake about how he was being treated and how I couldn't believe sales people could even act that way... You know what he said to me? "Well they probably know I'm serious about finding the perfect jeans" Oh dear sweet nieve little brother.

I am not jealous or anything, I just don't think he realizes how lucky he has it some times. He has had hard times too believe me. But I feel like now he is definitely getting back some good karma.
