New Meds

After 4 days of trying to soothe a pitiful unhappy lil man, We have a new medicine. Levsin.

Last night Ron, Evan, and I were @ Walmart and ran into an old friend whom I haven't seen in years. She had her cute threesome of kids with her and she immediately ran up to Evan and wanted to hold him. He was of course fussing and making a scene. (Thats the rule right? Kids have to act up in Walmart) I had to ask if she was sure she wanted to hold the little fussy man? She told me "Of course! I had a colicky one so I'm used to fussy babies!" I immediately started asking her what interventions she tried and which ones worked? She told me about different holding positions and asked if I had used Mylicon. I told her that he was on Zantac, and the Mylicon didn't do squat. She then told me that the Dr gave her a script for something similar to Mylicon but stronger. I immediately went home and started Googling. (Isn't this ridiculous? I'm a nurse and the majority of my medical knowledge comes from Google) I read about Levsin and studied the side effects in my drug book.

The next day, before a 6 hour trip to Atlanta, I called the Dr and told her about how he cries and turns red from puuuuushing! And how tight his stomach is and how I can FEEL it girggling. And also how he cries in his sleep. (it really was such a pitiful sight seeing lil man sleep-crying) I told her I think he has severe painful gas and Mylicon doesn't touch it. She called us in a script for Levsin. Thanks to all my research, I already knew every about this drug.

That was the first night Evan slept through the night. I feel bad that I have to give my baby drugs to make him a "happy" baby. But at the same time I worry: How is it possible for him to hit his developmental milestones and develop his personality if he is crying all the time? I hate giving him medicine, but I do take breaks from the medicine to evaluate if he still need them. Every day I hope for a day where I don't have to give my lil man drugs just to see his sweet lil smile.

Christian's Birthday

My nephew Christian's Birthday is today and Ron and I have a unique birthday gift for him. It's called a Bilibo. It is a creative toy where the kid uses his imagination for creative play. It can be a chair, a hat, a turtle shell, a spinner, and much much more. It is supposed to be hours of fun for any kid. We decided to not tell him what it is and see his reaction to Bilibo and see what he uses it for.
So excited! We are going to Atlanta to hand deliver his gift this weekend. I am so excited It has been a little while since I've seen my sis. So this will be fun!

XOXO~

Updating the Blog

Tomorrow I am going to update my blog @ the request of my bestie Carley. She may literally be the only one who reads my blog. So Car this is for you. Sorry I have been too busy blogstalking other mommy blogs and desperately wishing that I could have my own cute button to stick on my page for the hundreds of followers I have so they can "stick it" on their page. And also, how do you get one of those cute icons that show up on the tabs of the page you are looking at? I am going to have to discuss this with my sister. I will have a cute icon! Carley, my only blog reader, as my witness, I will have a cute button or icon or both.

Super Bowl Sunday

Usually we have a Super Bowl party @ our house. But this being E's first super bowl and him being too young we decided to have our own lil family super bowl party instead. Even though both teams were in my top 3 fav teams of all time, I was rooting for the Saints because they have never been to the Super Bowl and after Katrina they brought so much hope back to New Orleans. It really has been a fairy tail ending for all of them.

This is him after the Colts got the first touchdown.

So because I was for the Saints, Ron decided to root for the Colts. A few weeks before the game I started searching for baby onesies that had both team logos on them. But I couldn't find anything online, so I decided to make my own. I had some t-shirt iron on paper left over from some craft I had done in the past, so I downloaded the logos on the paper and ironed them on two plain white onesies.

Too tuckered out to change outfits

Our intentions were to have E in one outfit for the first half and change him to the other during halftime. But he fell asleep before half time and we didn't want to wake him. But we did manage to get some cute pics.

XOXO~
